Activity 1        Training for nurses and midwives at national level

Description: WHO CC at Faculty of Nursing (FON), Mahidol University has offered short course training programs in a variety of specialty areas designed for professional nurses around the country who want to pursue advanced nursing knowledge and skills. Examples of the training programs include Oncology Nursing; Perioperative Nursing; Infection Diseases and Infection Preventive; Nursing Management; Cardiovascular Nursing; Rehabilitation Nursing; Trauma and Disaster; Case management.

Activity 2        Training for nurses and midwives at international level

Description: WHO CC at Faculty of Nursing (FON), Mahidol University has offered international short course training programs for professional nurses in the region upon requested. The programs have covered a wide range of subjects such as Emergency, Trauma and Disaster; Maternal Child Health; Pediatric Nursing; Midwifery education; Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing; Prevention and Care Management for Pregnant Women with STIs and HIV/AIDs; and Antenatal and Postnatal Care. The courses can be tailored to match with special interests and needs. Combine objectives, topics, course length to perfectly suit trainees.

Activity 3        Short course/workshops on nursing research

Description:
WHO CC at Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University has supported and encouraged nurses to be competence in conducting quality nursing research. Train of the trainer workshop on nursing research will be provided. Trainees will be assigned to conduct their research project. During this period the faculty members, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University will advise their research work through face to face meeting, mails or Skype program.

Activity 4        Building research capacity of evidence-based practice for nurses and midwives


Description:
WHO CC at Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University has supported and encouraged nurses to provide their care based on evidence to improve the quality and effectiveness of nursing care. Train of the trainer workshops on evidence-based practice will be provided. Trainees will be assigned to create their own evidence-based practice project. The faculty members, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University will advise and support the project group through calls, mails or Skype program to help complete the projects.

Activity 5       Building capacity for nurse educators

Description: The WHO CC at FON has provided opportunities to improve quality of nursing education in many countries in the region. Scholarship for nurse educators in this region to study in a short-course training, and a graduate level at the Faculty of Nursing has been to strengthen their competency will be offered. Activities of building capacity for nurse educators also include faculty exchange program, and collaborative research projects.

Activity 6       Consultative Meeting on Transformative Nursing Education

Description: The WHO CC at FON has provided opportunities to improve quality of nursing education in many countries in the region.

Supported by WHO SEARO, Faculty of Nursing has initiated the platform for the First Asian Congress in Nursing Education (ACiNE) in June 2014. In order to discuss the educational challenges, highlighting on transformative nursing education ideas, information and expertise, to develop the joint networking among the First/Leader of nursing schools to prepare nurse graduates for 21st century nursing workforce, and advance for nursing and midwifery education and practice in the Asian region.

As the result of the Congress, the consultative meeting for ASEAN on Transformative Nursing Education will be conducted to discuss the current development of transformative learning in nursing education within the frame of the 21st century learning in each ASEAN country; the training program to build capacity of nurse educators; the measures to evaluate the competencies of nurse graduates; and inter-country collaboration
