Workshop: Development of mainstay network for promoting, supporting and protecting of breastfeeding

Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University cooperated with United Nations Children's Fund, Thailand organized a workshop in the topic "Development of mainstay network for promoting, supporting and protecting of breast feeding" on February 19-21, 2014 at Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council. Attendants were nurse instructors and professional nurses of breastfeeding in Thailand. Emeritus Professor Dr.Wichit Srisuphan, President of Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council, Associate Professor Dr.Fongcum Tilokskulchai, Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Khun Porntida Patthong, Representative from United Nations Children's Fund, Thailand and academic staffs from Faculty of Nursing gained accreditation to join in the opening of workshop.

In this workshop, attendants gained knowledge about "Thailand and Global situations of promoting, supporting and protecting of breastfeeding" by Khun Porntida Patthong, "Update 10 steps to successful breastfeeding & Code of marketing" by Dr.Yupayong Hangchaovanich, Secretarial of Thai Breastfeeding Center Foundation, "Breastfeeding advocacy" by Khun Thaksaphon Thammarungsri, International Health Policy Program, Ministry of Public Health and "Investigate breast feeding..knowledge to practice" by Associate Professor Kannikar Vichitsukron, President of The Training Center for Breastfeeding and Child Nutrition, Faculty of Nursing , Mahidol University. Moreover, attendants had chances to share experiences and arrange conference for promoting, supporting and protecting of breastfeeding for nurses throughout the country and received informations in planning of combining center and network from Dr.Duangvadee Sungkhobol
