International Conference on "N-nergizing Nursing Profession for NCD Challenges (N3 Nursing Conference)


On January 8th, 2019 at 9:00 am at Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok, Clinical Professor Emeritus Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, Chairman of Mahidol University Council, presided over International Conference on "N-nergizing Nursing Profession for NCD Challenges (N3 Nursing Conference)". With respect, Associate Professor Dr. Tassana Boonthong, President of Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council, and Professor Banchong Mahaisavariya, Acting President of Mahidol University, also honored to participate the ceremony.

Associate Professor Dr. Yajai Sitthimongkol, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, said about the situation of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and stroke, that these are being problems continuously deteriorating throughout the world. With this situation, it is a challenge for the nursing profession as considered to be an important core in the health system which has a primary duty of care and support, providing knowledge and suggesting ways to improve the health of patients.

As a leading nursing education institution in Thailand, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, is aware of these important problems and therefore collaborated with Division of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital and The Siriraj Nurses Alumni Association under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother to organize the international conference on the topic "N-nergizing Nursing Profession for NCD Challenges (N3 Nursing Conference)" between 8th - 10th January 2020 at Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok.

The conference is co-organized by World Health Organization. There are also hospitals, educational institutions, both domestic and international, with a total of 19 institutions co-hosted the conference. Also being honored by having professional speakers to pass on valuable knowledge and share experience to the attendees. The conference is being attended by 570 participants from 18 countries around the world. In addition, there are over 100 research presentations from many participating institutions.

It is considered as a world-class forum to exchange knowledge to strengthen, support, promote capacity and collaborate with domestic and foreign network partners. Besides, this conference is a forum to exchange knowledge for the nursing profession in carrying out surveillance, prevention and control of chronic non-communicable diseases.
