On November 13, 2020, Associate Professor Dr. Yajai Sitthimongkol, Dean of Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University respectively welcomed Dr. Pongsuda Pongtanya, Director of the Product and Technology Development Center, and executives and the working team from SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (SCGP) on the occasion of the delegates visit for summarizing the assessment results of the development of the cooperative development of Paper PPE prototype for medical use and also magnifying results for a further test in a hospital.

Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University started working with SCGP to develop a prototype Paper PPE since the first phase of the Covid-19 epidemic in April 2020 due to the lack of medical devices. The faculty was involved in providing information about the standard of the PPE and distributed to hospitals and various health service centers for trials. The Faculty of Nursing collected feedback from users, track the results of use, and apply the suggestions to develop the product. Presently, SCGP has produced the 9th generation prototype that has been successfully tested by the Ministry of Industry. The product is waterproof and blood-proof (performance level 3: which is the highest level that can be tested in Thailand). The faculty is responsible for the distribution of PPE paper prototype to hospitals for further tests and development.
