On May 22, 2021, Associate Professor Dr.Yajai Sitthimongkol, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University gave opening remarks for the virtual academic conference entitled “Breastfeeding Work Development in the New Normal Society” which was jointly organized by the Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand and the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University. Associate Professor Kannikar Vichitsukon, President of Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand, also delivered a welcoming speech to attendees.

This conference was held twice on May 22, 2021 and June 19, 2021, via Zoom Cloud Meetings. The objectives of this conference were to enhance academic knowledge, to strengthen research, innovation and service skills, focusing on promoting and supporting the breastfeeding of nurses and public health professionals to be up to date with the current situation. Besides, the activity was arranged to build networks between participants for both academic and breastfeeding works.

There were Professor Dr.Susanha Yimyam (Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University), Lecturer Dr.Sasitara Nuampa (Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University), Mrs. Wassana Ngamkarn (Registered Nurse from Prapokklao Chanthaburi Hospital), Mrs.Meena Sopsamai (Registered Nurse from Simitivej Sukhumvit Hospital), and Lecturer Dr.Supannee Kanhadilok (Boromarajonani College of Nursing Phra-Putthabat), as the speakers of this virtual conference.
