The MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center, on behalf of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, organized its first webinar meeting on the topic “The Current State of Science of Hypertension Guideline and the Challenges of Hypertension Management during COVID-19 Outbreak”.


On June 22, 2021, the MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center, on behalf of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, organized its first webinar meeting on the topic “The Current State of Science of Hypertension Guideline and the Challenges of Hypertension Management during COVID-19 Outbreak” via Zoom Cloud Meetings, moderated by Lecturer Dr. Thitipong Tankumpuan, Director of the MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center. The opening remarks for the meeting were given by Associate Professor Dr. Yajai Sitthimongkol, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Professor Dr. Marie Nolan, Interim Dean of School of Nursing, Johns Hopkins University. In this virtual event, Professor Cheryl R. Dennison Himmelfarb, Vice Dean for Research of School of Nursing, Johns Hopkins University, shared knowledge on the topic “The Current State of Science of Hypertension Guidelines”. Besides, three faculty members from the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, including Assistant Professor Dr. Saovaros Meekusol, Lecturer Dr. Saowaluck Sukkapathanasrikul, and Lecturer Pawitra Jariyasakulwong, jointly shared knowledge on “The Challenges of Hypertension Management during COVID-19 Outbreak in Asia”.

The 1st webinar meeting was participated by more than 400 attendees from various organizations, hospitals, educational institutions, both in Thailand and International. For further opportunity, the MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center has scheduled the 2nd Webinar Meeting on August 17, 2021, under the topic "Addressing the Mental Health Impact of COVID-19 Impact on Nursing Students", and the 1st Short Course Training on the topic Fundamentals for Implementing a Hypertension Program in Resource-Constrained Settings” in this upcoming September.
