The 1st Virtual Short Course Training Program Organized by The MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center


On September 27, 2021, the MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center, on behalf of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, held the opening ceremony for its first virtual short course training program titled "Fundamentals for Implementing a Hypertension Program in Resource-Constrained Settings". The program has been scheduled between September 27 – October 8, 2021, with objectives to share and discuss the hypertension management. In the beginning of the course, Associate Professor Dr.Yajai Sitthimongkol, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University, and Professor Dr. Cheryl Dennison Himmelfarb from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing gave opening remarks for this program. The instructor team also attended the opening ceremony.

The program had many participants from various organizations, hospitals, educational institutions in South East Asian countries including Thailand (13 people), Indonesia (12 people), Nepal (4 people), Sri Lanka (5 people), Myanmar (4 people), Maldives (6 people), Bhutan (7 people), and Timor-Leste (7 people); 58 people in total. It is a cooperation for sustainable development according to the Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) which supports global cooperation to foster sustainable development in research and health sciences.
