HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Grants Royal Audience to the Faculty of Nursing and Higher Educational Institutions’ Representatives to Report the Result of Royal Scholarships for Cambodian Students


On September 16, 2021, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted an audience to representatives of Thai higher educational institutions including administrators, faculty members, and students of the royal scholarship under Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Education Project to the Kingdom of Cambodia, gathering to report on the results of the royal scholarship project.

H.E. Ouk Sorphorn, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Thailand, paid respects to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, General Vichit Yathip, chairman of the project, respectfully reported the operation results, and General Atikom Suksomsathan marshaled the administrators, faculty members and students of the royal scholarships from the year 2018 - 2021, attending to pay tributes to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn through an online platform, from the meeting room at Sa Pathum Palace.

In this regard, Associate Professor Dr. Yajai Sitthimongkol, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, led the faculty administrators and students of the royal scholarships from Mahidol University to attend the audience via the online system by gathering at Multipurpose Room 411, Mahidol Learning Center, Mahidol University, Salaya. The attendees from the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University included six students studying in the Bachelor of Nursing Science Program’s Year 1,3, and 4, and one student studying in a graduate program. In addition, there were students and faculty members from School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Faculty of Engineering, and the College of Music.

The Royal Scholarship under Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Education Project to the Kingdom of Cambodia has been ongoing since 2011, initiated from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's wish to develop the quality of education system for Cambodian youth as a gift to Cambodian people, considered as Her Royal Highness’ longtime friends. Accordingly, education systems, both general and vocational, and dual-system schools have emerged. In addition, Her Royal Highness was concerned about the health of students, so she emphasized that good education must go along with good hygiene. The implementation of the past projects has resulted in good relations and good cooperation between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Cambodia in both the private and public sectors. As a result, more than 800 qualified new generation workers who have received royal grants have gradually returned to develop the country, thus confirming that this project is a truly sustainable royal gift.
