The 16th International Forum of Health Sciences in Kyushu University organized by Department of Health Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan


On November 19, 2021, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University attended the 16th International Forum of Health Sciences in Kyushu University organized by Department of Health Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan, through Zoom Meeting program. In the opening ceremony, Professor Masayuki Sasaki (Dean of Department of Health Sciences, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University) gave opening remarks and welcomed all participants.

In the first session, the faculty members joined the special lecture “International Cooperation in Practice: Some examples of JICA’s operation in health sector” given by Research Professor Motoo Taki. In another session, students joined the special lecture “Building Up Resilience with Sustainability for Nursing Education in Taiwan” given by Associate Professor Fu-Chih Lai from College of Nursing, Taipei Medical University, Taiwan. Afterwards, there was a student meeting between nursing students aiming to exchange knowledge and experiences from their countries. The Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University’s students gave presentations on the following topics.

1. Students of the Master of Nursing Science Program (International Program), Miss Meulu Primananda and Miss Prampree Saelim, presented the topic “Universal health care coverage comparing between Thailand and Indonesia”.

2. The second-year students of the Bachelor of Nursing Science Program, 1) Miss Ausama Sonjaijit 2) Miss Jasmin Doroseh 3) Miss Ploybalkis Yunuswangsa 4) Miss Matavee Treetangtragan 5) Miss Seefa Japakeeya 6) Miss Nuntinee Sriurai 7) Miss Pakkaranan Puangkhao and 8) Miss Varasin Vongsatean, jointly presented the topic "Online Education and Health Impacts of Nursing Students during the COVID-19 Pandemic".

This forum is considered an international collaboration to enhance students’ qualities and 21st-century skills and to foster and strengthen global partnerships, which is in line with Sustainable Development Goals 17 (SDGs 17).
