The MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center Organizes the 6th Webinar Meeting with the Theme "Common NCDs in Older Adults: Role of Nurses and Caregivers"


On April 26, 2022, the MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center, on behalf of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, organized its fifth webinar online meeting with the theme "Common NCDs in Older Adults: Role of Nurses and Caregivers". The objective of this activity was to exchange knowledge about the significant role of nurses and caregivers of older adults with non-communicable diseases.

In this virtual event, there were three main speakers including 1) Siriluk Sithichoksakulchai, MSN, RN, Lecturer of the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University and PhD Student of School of Nursing, Kaohsiung Medical University, presenting on the topic “Motivation of Rehabilitation in Older Adults with Stroke”, 2) Kirsten Parker, BN, RN, PhD Candidate of School of Nursing, University of Wollongong, presenting on “Older people living with dementia and their transitions in care: the role of Nurses and Caregivers”, and Assistant Professor Martha Abshire Saylor, PhD, RN from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, presenting on the topic “From Caregiver support to HEROIC: meeting the needs of caregivers of persons with advanced heart failure”. This time, Lecturer Dr. Rungnapa Ruchob from the MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center, took part as the moderator.

This webinar meeting had more than 200 registrants from various organizations, hospitals, and educational institutions in various countries such as Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, and China. It is cooperation for sustainable development according to the Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) which supports global cooperation to foster sustainable development in research and health sciences.
