The MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center Organizes the 7th Webinar Meeting with the Theme "Non-Communicable Diseases Management in Low and Middle Income Countries"


On June 21, 2022, the MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center, on behalf of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, organized its seventh webinar online meeting with the theme "Non-Communicable Diseases Management in Low and Middle Income Countries". The objective of this activity was to exchange knowledge about global NCDs situations and health system management focusing on low and middle-income countries (LMICs) such as Africa and Thailand.

In this virtual event, there were international guest speakers including Associate Professor Dr. Yvonne Commodore-Mensah from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, Samuel Byiringiro, a PhD candidate from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, and Thomas Kwadwo Hinneh, Head of Public Health Services, Tain District Hospital, Ghana, that jointly shared on the topic “Patient-, Provider- and Health system-level determinants of Hypertension Outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa”. In addition, Suebsarn Ruksakulpiwat, PhD Student and lecturer from the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, presented on the topic “Self-Management in Stroke Population in Low-Middle Income Countries and Thailand”. This time, Lecturer Dr. Rungnapa Ruchob from the MU-JHU NCDs Research Collaborative Center, took part as the moderator.

This webinar meeting had more than 160 registrants from various organizations, hospitals, and educational institutions in various countries such as Thailand, Japan, China, Liberia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and the USA. It is cooperation for sustainable development according to the Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) which supports global cooperation to foster sustainable development in research and health sciences.
