On June 14, 2022, Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University together with Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand organized the academic conference “Update and Innovation: Breastfeeding Support in NEXT Normal” aiming to develop potential knowledge and competence of registered nurses in relation to the work of protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding. It is to enhance the efficiency and outcomes of breastfeeding work under research and health science findings; as well as recognizing the importance and necessity of raising the level of knowledge, adjusting paradigms and restoring the skills of those involved in protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding.

In this event, Associate Professor Dr. Yajai Sitthimongkol, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University, and Associate Professor Kannikar Vichitsukon, President of Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand, gave opening remarks for the conference. There were guest speakers from various organizations including Department of Health, Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, Facebook Page "เลี้ยงลูกตามใจหมอ", Nakornthon Hospital, Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital, Thai Family Health Promotion Center, Prince of Songkla University, Khon Kaen University, Phrapokklao Hospital, Rajavithi Hospital, Kumphawapi Hospital, and faculty members from the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University. This virtual Conference was conducted through Zoom Meetings with the total of 212 participants.
