On August 19, 2023, the Breastfeeding and Child Health Promoting Center and Academic Services, on behalf of the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University, hosted the academic conference on the occasion of 2023 World Breastfeeding Week on the topic “Enabling Breastfeeding”. Associate Professor Dr. Yajai Sitthimongkol, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University gave the opening speech and Associate Professor Kannikar Vichitsukon, President of Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand, delivered a welcome speech to all participants and announced the award winners of Lactation Nurse the Idol 2023.

In this meeting, there were lectures and discussions on various topics, honored by many talented speakers as follows: 1) Discussion on "Breastfeeding Support Concept for World Breastfeeding Week 2023" by Assistant Professor Dr. Pannarat Saengperm, Secretary-General of Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand, 2) Discussion on "Elevating the Promotion Driving for Breastfeeding" by Dr. Olarik Musigavong (Director of Maternal and Infant Health Division, Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health), Dr. Teerawee Virawan (Director of the Health Promotion Division, Health Department Bangkok), and Miss Pornpawee Poolsawat, Charoen Krung Pracharak Hospital, and 3) Discussion on "Sharing on Breastfeeding Promotion in the Workplace" by M.D. Dr. Yupayong Hangchaovanich, M.D. (Advisor of Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand), Assistant Professor Dr. Pornnapa Tangsuksan (President of the Breastfeeding and Child Health Promoting Center), Mr. Payap Jangsawat from Thai Summit Harness Public Company Limited, Acting SUB LT.. Parinya Saknavee (Managing Director of Work D Production Company Limited), Miss Suraswadi Tantidechamongkol (President of the Mother and Child Volunteer Club), and Miss Hathairat Boonmanam, Registered Nurse, King Narai Maharat Hospital, Lopburi Province.

The aim of this academic conference was to publicize and raise awareness among health workers and interested people about the importance of all parts working together to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. This event was organized online via Zoom Meeting, and Facebook Live: Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University.
