On October 25, 2023, Assistant Professor Dr.Atittaya Pornchaikate Au-Yeong (Associate Dean for Policy Planning and Budget) from Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, presided over 2023 Academic Conference and Annual General Meeting under the theme "Sustainable Breastfeeding: Challenging and Opportunity" organized by the cooperation of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, and Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand. Associate Professor Kannikar Vichitsukon, President of Lactation Nurse Association of Thailand, delivered a welcome speech to all participants and presented the “2023 Lactation Nurse the Idol” awards. The award recipients consisted of 3 professional nurses; 1) Miss Aungsana Siriwattanametanont from Buriram Hospital (Outstanding for Lactation Supporting Services in Hospitals), 2) Mrs. Sarinee Kuanwilai from Trang Hospital (Outstanding for Lactation Supporting Services in Communities), and 3) Mrs. Wanpen Kawayawong (Honorable Mention for Lactation Supporting Research and Innovation). Besides, there was certificate presentation to Mrs. Nutchanat Munsittikul from Siriraj Hospital, and Mrs. Ratchaneewan Suetrong from Regional Health Promotion Centre 12 Yala.

This Conference had been organized between October 25 – 27, 2023, at Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok. The objectives were to create understandings of breastfeeding policies for practice with the Sustainable Development Goals and to develop the potential of midwives as well as create a network of cooperation to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding. There were approximately 200 people attending the Conference including nursing instructors, professional nurses, nursing students, healthcare related officers, and interested persons from nursing educational institutions and various agencies from both the public and private sectors.
