On May 1, 2024, the Faculty of Nursing at Mahidol University organized the workshop to prepare nurses for competency enhancement in labor care and to teach student nurses at the Golden Jubilee Medical Center, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. This training aimed to equip professional nurses with the necessary skills for labor and emergency obstetric care, including care for newborns. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr.Pornnapa Tangsuksan (Head of Department of Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing) presided over the opening ceremony. Mrs. Thasa Sirawattanachai, Deputy Director of Golden Jubilee Medical Center, and heads of nursing departments joined the event. There were Lecturer Dr.Puttiraporn Hungsawanus (Assistant Dean for Education), Lecturer Naiyana Khadking, Assistant Professor Dr.Sarunya Koositamongkol, Assistant Professor Dr.Nattaya Rattana-umpa, along with Ms. Ratree Sirisomboon (Head of Labor Room, Siriraj Hospital), and faculty members from the Department of Department of Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing joinging as practical instructors. The objectives were to review knowledge and practice skills in caring for and managing pregnant women and those giving birth in both normal and emergency situations in obstetrics, including newborns, as well as developing the potential for caring and giving advice to nursing students during practicum.
