The 2024 World No Tobacco Day, in Cooperation with Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital


On May 31, Associate Professor Dr. Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, along with Assistant Professor Thirawan Chuetaleng (Associate Dean for Student Development), Committee Chair of Faculty of Nursing for the Smoke-Free Organization, Associate Professor Weeraya Jungsomjatepaisal (Associate Dean for Administration), faculty members and students from Smoke-Free Nursing Student Club, jointly attended The 2024 World No Tobacco Day, In Cooperation with Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

Professor Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, MD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University presided over the ceremony. The Faculty of Nursing has campaigned to show a clear stance on jointly protecting children and youth from e-cigarettes on World No Tobacco Day, which is held on May 31 every year. The objective was to raise awareness about the effects of smoking, both in health of individuals and society. Participating in the activities of the Faculty of Nursing emphasized the importance of preventing and reducing tobacco use, which is in line with the Faculty's mission to promote good health for the people; as well as reflecting our commitment to being a leader in education and health promotion at the national and international levels. This commitment also supported the World Health Organization's goal of reducing smoking rates worldwide as part of its efforts to reduce the burden of disease and death from tobacco-related diseases.
