On June 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., Associate Professor Dr. Ameporn Ratinthorn, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, and Lieutenant General Chamnan Changsat, Director-General of the Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Station (TV5), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly produce the program “1 Minute with NS Maidol.” The ceremony was witnessed by Assistant Professor Dr.Rattima Sirihorachai, Project Leader; Associate Professor Weeraya Jungsomjatepaisal, Associate Dean for Administration; Assistant Professor Dr.Supapak Phetrasuwan, Associate Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication; Associate Professor Dr.Somsiri Rungamornrat, Associate Dean for Quality Development; Khun Tavinan Kongkran, Deputy Director-General for Communications and Corporate Image; and other executives from the Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Station (TV5). The event took place at the Petcharat Meeting Room, 3rd floor, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Bangkok Noi.
During the visit, Lieutenant General Chamnarn Changsat and the executives toured the Thai Nursing Museum at the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, and paid respects at the Royal Statues of Queen Sri Savarindira and Queen Sri Bajrindra, at the multipurpose yard of the Faculty of Nursing. They also paid homage to the Royal Statues of Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, the Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health in Thailand, Princess Srinagarindra, and King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, at the 100th Year Siriraj Centennial Hall.
Associate Professor Dr. Ameporn Ratinthorn stated that the program ‘1 Minute with NS Mahidol’ is another communication channel for the Faculty of Nursing to share health care knowledge from academic staff to the public. This aims to equip the public with knowledge on proper health care and disease prevention, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 3, which promotes health and well-being for people of all ages. The program will air on the Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Station, TV Channel 5, every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., starting with its first broadcast on July 6, 2024. It will also be available through the station’s online platforms and the Faculty of Nursing’s media channels. This collaboration represents another significant partnership between the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, and the Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Station to produce and disseminate valuable health information to the public. The anticipated outcome is that the public will gain knowledge and understanding of health care, leading to behavioral changes that enable self-reliance and promote well-being across all age groups, laying a crucial foundation for the country’s future, which the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, strives to achieve.
