The Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Joins the Breastfeeding Knowledge Booth Exhibition at the Plaque Presentation Ceremony Honoring the Model Daycare Center in the Workplace


On July 10, 2024, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, represented by Breastfeeding and Child Health Promoting Center, led by Assistant Professor Dr.Pornnapa Tangsuksan, Head of the Department of Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing, along with Assistant Professor Dr.Sasitara Nuampa (Assistant Dean for Research), Assistant Professor Rungtip Kasak, and Lecturer Dr. Manassawee Srimoragot, Committee Member of the Center, were honored to participate in the breastfeeding knowledge booth exhibition at the ceremony of presenting a plaque honoring the model daycare center in the workplace. The event was organized by the Department of Welfare and Labor Protection, Ministry of Labor. In the ceremony Mrs. Sopha Kiatniratcha, Director-General of the Department, presided over the ceremony at the Ministry of Labor Building, 5th floor. Over 200 attendees participated in the event. Mahidol University's Faculty of Nursing, as a leading educational institution, was honored for its role in promoting breastfeeding and early childhood health, developing innovations, and conducting research to support various operational aspects at a national policy level. The exhibition provided informative content and fostered understanding on the development of early childhood centers aimed at ‘Comfortable Atmosphere, Rapid Child Development, Disease-Free’ that requires management in terms of people, places, policies, and budgets to create a ‘Safe Kid & Safe life’ corner to prevent the spread of disease in child care centers covering 6 areas: 1) construction safety, 2) material and equipment safety, 3) personal protection systems, 4) safety in learning activities, 5) travelling safety, and 6) emergency systems. It also showcased equipment used for assessing child development in both typical (Developmental Surveillance and Promotion Manual, DSPM) and at-risk (Developmental Assessment for Intervention Manual, DAIM) groups. There was also the presentation ‘Development of Model Workplace Promoting Women's Health and Breastfeeding Corners’, focusing on enhancing Thai workplace and child quality for ESG (Environmental, Social, & Governance) quality organizations, ensuring sustainable national development.
