The Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Organizes the Project "Positive Communication about Sexuality between Adolescents and Parents" at the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Bangkok Noi


On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, organized the workshop "Positive Communication about Sexuality between Adolescents and Parents" for 6th-grade students and their parents from Wat Amarinthararam School. The event was held in Room 301 at the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Bangkok Noi campus. Assistant Professor Dr.Kultida Subsomboon, was a Chair of the project, and Associate Professor Dr. Yajai Sitthimongkol, Faculty Consultant, Associate Professor Dr. Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, were project advisors.

Faculty members from the Department of Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing and representatives from the Path2Health Foundation served as workshop facilitators. Teachers from Wat Amarinthararam School also participated in the event, which was supported by the Bangkok Noi District Health Security Fund, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The primary objectives of the workshop were to promote correct knowledge and understanding of sexuality and reproductive health, to develop communication skills between adolescents and parents on sexuality issues, and to establish a network that provides counseling and care for families facing reproductive health challenges. The workshop aimed to strengthen access to services provided by the Faculty of Nursing's Nursing and Midwifery Clinic, located in the Faculty's dormitory at Bang Khun Non. This clinic was established to reduce congestion in hospitals, strengthen the primary healthcare system, and provide reliable support for the local community. These efforts align with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 3, which focuses on good health and well-being.
