The Closing Ceremony and Certificate Presentation of “Genetic Counseling Training Course, Batch #2 of 2024” (2nd Round)


On October 30, 2024, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, organized the Closing Ceremony and Certificate Presentation of “Genetic Counseling Training Course, Batch #2 of 2024” (2nd Round.) Associate Professor Dr.Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, preside over the event and delivered the certificates to graduates. Assistant Professor Phichet Wongrot, Associate Dean for Academic Services and Policy Advocacy, gave an introduction remark. Associate Professor Dr.Acharaporn Seeherunwong, Chair of the Program, announced the list of graduating trainees. Ms. Songjai Damrongkiattisakul joined the event and congratulated the 19 graduates at Room 301, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Bangkok Noi, which is in line with the Faculty of Nursing Strategic Plan 2025-2028 In Strategy 2, create a driving force for the transformation of the public health and well-being system. The main goal is to develop model nurses and networks to drive the transformation of the public health and well-being system.

This training program aims to promote continuous education among interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, medical technologists, sports scientists, and pharmacists. The focus is on equipping hospital-based participants at all levels with competencies in providing basic genetic counseling to target groups, including patients and their families, pregnant women, and couples whose unborn child is at risk of genetic disorders. The training benefits patient care, family planning, and community health by fostering informed decision-making. Additionally, it promotes the application of genetic testing and genome technology in precision nursing, ensuring these advancements are utilized to their fullest potential for the improvement of the country’s healthcare and public health systems.
