On October 20, 2023, Associate Professor Dr.Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, and Miss Thochaporn Tesasil, Head of Department of Nursing Siriraj Hospital, jointly organized the homage-paying ceremony and laid the pedestal tray for Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother, marking her birthday anniversary and National Nurses' Day in 2024. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Nunthaporn Poungkaew, RN, from Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University, together with faculty members and administrative teams from the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University and Department of Nursing, Siriraj Hospital. The event took place at 100th Anniversary Pavilion, Siriraj Hospital.
At 9:00 a.m., Associate Professor Dr.Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, along with Assistant Professor Tara Vongviryangkoon, MD, (Deputy Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University), Assistant Professor Monsak Chuchotirot (Deputy Director of Siriraj Hospital), Miss Thochaporn Tesasil (Head of Department of Nursing Siriraj Hospital), and Khun Tavinan Kongkran, Deputy Director-General for Communications and Corporate Image of the Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Station (TV5), jointly opened the event "Continuing Royal Aspirations of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra for People’s Health. Assistant Professor Phichet Wongrot, Associate Dean for Academic Services and Policy Advocacy, reported on the event’s background and objectives.
At the event, there were activities providing services to the public, including: blood pressure screening, diabetes screening, advice on healthy eating and food label reading under the theme "Good Nutrition for a Healthy Life," guidance on appropriate physical activities titled "Exercise Anytime, Good for All Ages," counseling for quitting smoking and new forms of tobacco products, breast cancer screening, osteoporosis screening, bone density testing, and demonstrations of Thai massage to relieve office syndrome-related pain.
This National Nurses Day event was organized in remembrance of the royal benevolence of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra towards the nursing profession in Thailand as an honorary alumna of the Faculty of Nursing at Mahidol University, reflecting the faculty's organizational values, "Noble" – preserving legacy and working to promote societal well-being.
