On November 15, 2024, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, participated in the Loy Krathong Festival 2024, hosted by the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital at Siriraj Hospital. The event aimed to promote and preserve Thai traditions, culture, and identity while fostering unity among the Bangkok Noi community.
The Faculty of Nursing joined several competitions, including the parade, krathong-making, and traditional costume contests. This year’s parade was themed "NS Protects the Waters: Creating Goodness and Sustaining the Earth", emphasizing eco-friendly practices, such as creative krathong floating to conserve water resources, reduce waste, and decrease climate change. The parade featured Associate Professor Dr.Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University together with faculty members, staff, and students.
The Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, received achievements as follows:
- Winning the 2nd Runner-Up for Krathong-Making Contest (Visual Category): contributors were Assistant Professor Dr. Penchan Sittipreechachan, Assistant Professor Dr.Chanya Thunyadee, Ms. Siriwan Phuphanphin, Ms. Sophitha Sikaew, Ms. Sitang Yangsrisuriya, Mr. Sila Kopan, Ms. Alisa Kaewjampasee, and Ms. Lumyai Wanont.
- Winning the 1st Runner-Up for Traditional Costume Contest in the Women’s Category: Competitors were Ms. Suthinan Thepdaeng in women’s category, and Lecturer Change Preeprem in men’s category.
Faculty administrators, staff, and students attended the festival and enthusiastically supported the Faculty’s participants in the various competitions.
