On December 21, 2024, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, through the Department of Surgical Nursing and in collaboration with Medtronic (Thailand) Co., Ltd., organized a training program titled “Futuristic of OR Nurses/ODS & MIS Nurses 2025.” The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr.Usavadee Asdornwised, Chairperson of the Program of Nursing Specialty in Perioperative Nursing, and Program of Nursing Specialty in in Nursing Case Management for One Day Surgery/Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University.
Keynote speakers included Dr. Viboon Phatthanabadikorn, Deputy Medical Director of Phaholpolpayuhasena Hospital, Professor Dr.Usavadee Asdornwised, Assistant Professor Dr. Thitikanya Duangrat from the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, and Ms. Chulalak Singklangpol, who delivered a lecture on “Issues and Trends in Perioperative Nursing and ODS.” In the afternoon, Lt. Col. Dr. Thanittra Muangnart, President of the Operating Room Nurses Association of Thailand, Ms. Duangnapa Sarathiwit, Head of the Operating Room, Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital, and Ms. Nongyao Tharawan, Head of the ODS Unit, Phrae Hospital, discussed “Advancements in Surgical Nursing and ODS/MIS.” The training also included interactive activities at various learning stations, held in Room 301, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Bangkok Noi campus.
The event aimed to enhance the knowledge of nurses in surgical nursing and ODS/MIS management, focusing on their practical application in clinical settings. Additionally, it emphasized advancements in technology, day surgery patient care, and the use of laparoscopic surgical equipment, highlighting topics essential for the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
