On January 10, 2025, on the occasion of the 128th anniversary (January 12) of the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University (School of Nursing and Midwifery), the Faculty of Nursing arranged the merit-making ceremony and food offerings to nine monks from Wat Rakhang Kositaram. Associate Professor Dr.Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, presided over the ceremony.
On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Yongyut Sirivatanauksorn (Director of Siriraj Hospital), Dr. Manaswee Jaradon (Deputy Director of the Golden Jubilee Medical Center), Associate Professor Dr. Kobkul Pancharoenkul (Faculty Consultant and Former Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University), Associate Professor Dr. Yajai Sitthimongkol (Faculty Consultant and Former Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University), Ms. Nutsara Petchabut (Deputy Head of Nursing Administration at Siriraj Hospital), Mrs. Puangthong Tanwongwan, (President of Siriraj Nurses’ Alumni Association), and representatives of the Faculty of Nursing Foundation Board, along with the Faculty of Nursing’s executive team and head of departments, participated in the event at the multipurpose area of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Bangkok Noi.
At 10:50 AM, the Faculty of Nursing conducted a tribute ceremony to Her Majesty Queen Sri Phatcharinthra in gratitude for her contributions to the Thai nursing profession. This was followed by the 24th Khunying Pinphak Phitthayaphet Speech Performance, titled "Nurses Driving Real-World Impact on Health and Well-Being," delivered by Professor Dr. Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University. The lecture took place at the Phatra Maharajkarun Conference Room, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, Salaya campus, and was streamed live via Facebook Live: Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University. At 1:00 PM, the "Faculty of Nursing for Society" Project organized a free health screening and consultation service for the public from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the multipurpose area of the Faculty of Nursing, Bang Khun Non campus. The event featured booths offering: Mental health counseling and promotion, Wound care guidance, Care recommendations for high-risk pregnant women, Pediatric emergency prevention education, Stroke risk screening, and Self-monitoring of vital signs.
On January 12, 1896, Queen Saovabha Phongsri, Queen of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) of Siam Thailand established the first nursing and midwifery school (currently the Faculty of Nursing Mahidol University). For more than 127 years, this institution has continuously produced professional nurses for Thai society with a vision to be a leading educational institution in nursing at the national and international levels. Additionally, the Faculty of Nursing has a vision to be a leader in promoting well-being for society and has a mission to produce nursing graduates with professional competencies that respond to the health problems of Thai and global society, with a unique identity, having distinguished characteristics according to corporate values (NS MAHIDOL). Besides, the Faculty of Nursing produces researches that guide the health service system policies of the country and the South East Asia Region, and also create a new body of knowledge in nursing science to further provide academic services for building leaders in promoting well-being for Thai society in the future.
