Nurses as a leader in the healthcare system.


Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, organized a short-course training on "Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE): A Person-Centered Care Model" from March 8-9, 2025. The workshop was organized by Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, and the MU-JHU NCD Research Collaborative Center.

The Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, as a WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Development has a strong mission to enhance healthcare professionals’ capabilities in providing integrated care for older adults, promote academic collaboration, and exchange knowledge on managing multimorbidity in older population.

The opening ceremony on March 8 was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean and Director of World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Development at Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University. Dean Ameporn stated that “The world’s population living longer, the prevalence of multimorbidity the co-existence of two or more chronic conditions has become a major global health concern. This workshop has emphasized the need for holistic, patient-centered care, focusing not only on treating individual diseases but also on improving the overall well-being of older adults”
