The Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, as a WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Development, reaffirms its leadership in global nursing and health education by hosting the "Inter-Professional Education (IPE): Training for the Trainers" workshop from March 22 to 29, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance educators' ability to design and implement Interprofessional Education (IPE)—a key strategy for improving healthcare quality. The opening ceremony on March 22, 2025, was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Ameporn Ratinthorn, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Development. She highlighted the significance of IPE in global health education, stating: "Interprofessional Education (IPE) is widely recognized in health science education worldwide as a learning process that fosters collaboration among students from various healthcare disciplines. By engaging in shared learning experiences, students develop the teamwork skills necessary for effective interdisciplinary cooperation—an essential factor in enhancing patient care quality. However, implementing IPE in Thailand’s health education system remains in its early stages and presents multiple challenges. This program is designed to strengthen educators' knowledge and capabilities, ensuring effective IPE integration into academic curricula. It also provides a valuable platform for educators to exchange knowledge and experiences. This training is a crucial step toward establishing IPE as a concrete educational approach in academic institutions across the region, ultimately developing healthcare professionals equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century." As a global leader in nursing and health education, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University remains committed to advancing interprofessional collaboration in healthcare. The faculty continues to drive innovative educational initiatives that enhance sustainable, high-quality patient care worldwide.
