Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University – March 26, 2025: As knowledge continues to evolve, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, is pushing forward with its Nursing Academic and Textbook Development Project. Teaming up with Mahidol University Press (MUPRESS), the faculty launched Episode 2 of its specialized training series, delving into the challenges of academic and textbook writing under the theme "Traps and Pitfalls in Academic and Textbook Writing"—exposing the hidden obstacles that academic authors often face!
The event was opened by Assistant Professor Phichet Wongrot, Associate Dean for Academic Services and Policy Advocacy, and Chair of the Textbook Project Committee. He welcomed participants and introduced key issues in producing high-quality textbooks. The session then passed the spotlight to the expert team from MUPRESS, led by Ms. Supranee Limpoungkaew, Head of Research Data Management and Publication, and Ms. Thitinan Srisatit, along with a panel of experienced speakers.
The path to becoming a professional textbook author is no easy feat! This intensive training session explored every aspect of academic writing—from structuring content and drafting manuscripts to navigating the publishing process correctly. Participants had the opportunity to engage in real-time Q&A, addressing all their concerns in an interactive and engaging learning atmosphere.
This training not only helps authors avoid common pitfalls that could hinder their manuscripts but also marks a significant step toward raising the standard of nursing textbooks in Thailand, paving the way for recognition on the global academic stage!
