On May 15, 2025, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, held the closing ceremony for the overseas program under the course 'Comparing Health Systems in an International Context: Thailand and the US' at the Orientation Room, 4th Floor, Faculty of Nursing. This program had students from the School of Nursing, University of Pennsylvania, USA, who participated in activities from May 4–16, 2025.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Supapak Petrasuwan, Associate Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, expressed her gratitude to Ms. Hanne Harbison, Mr. Dalmacio Calimlim Flores III, and the 16 participating students for their interest in learning about Thailand’s healthcare system and the role of nurses within the Thai context joining the event were Professor Dr. Usawadee Asdarawiset from the Department of Surgical Nursing and Dr. Pornthip Khananub, who warmly welcomed and supported the knowledge exchange throughout the program.
The ceremony featured a hand thread tying (Sai Sin) to bestow good fortune upon the participants. The exchange students also shared their reflections on the experiences and insights gained during the program, which not only deepened their understanding of nursing practices in a different cultural context but also helped to foster mutual respect and cross-cultural understanding. This collaboration exemplifies the strength and potential of international educational partnerships.
