Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University Empowers the New Generation of Psychiatric Nurses 17th Cohort of the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Specialty Program Carries Forward Knowledge, Skills, and the Heart to Care for Vulnerable Minds with the Power of Empathy


On May 30, 2025, at the 9th-floor Dr. Kiattiphum Wongrajit Conference Room, Srithanya Hospital — and also streamed online — a heartwarming atmosphere filled the room as the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University took part in the certificate presentation ceremony for over 189 “white-uniformed warriors” who successfully completed the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Specialty Program and are now ready to serve public mental health needs.

Associate Professor Dr. Nopporn Wongsiriwat, Head of the Department of Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, represented the Dean of the Faculty at the ceremony, which was presided over by Dr. Kittisak Aksornwong, Director-General of the Department of Mental Health. This event showcased the strong and dynamic collaboration between the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University and the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health including key institutions such as Somdet Chaopraya Institute of Psychiatry, Srithanya Hospital, Rajanukul Institute, Suansaranrom Hospital, and Galya Rajanagarindra Institute. These partners drive Thailand's psychiatric nursing forward with unstoppable momentum. In today’s world, where mental health is an increasingly critical public health issue, having professionals who understand and genuinely care for patients at a deep level is the essential force the future truly needs.
