Training Frontline Nursing Leaders: ECG Interpretation and Emergency Cardiac Care

On 14–15 June 2025, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, through the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, hosted the 13th “ECG Interpretation and Nursing Care” workshop at SD Avenue Hotel, Bangkok. The training aimed to enhance nurses' clinical skills in interpreting electrocardiograms (ECG) with speed and precision.

Assistant Professor Pichet Wongrot, Associate Dean for Academic Services and Policy Advocacy, presided over the opening ceremony and welcomed more than 140 participants from institutions nationwide. Associate Professor Dr. Sarinrat Sriprasong, Project Chair, led the lectures and practical sessions, supported by expert speakers from various institutions.

The workshop focused on empowering nurses to detect life-threatening arrhythmias, especially in cardiac patients and those at high risk. Prompt recognition and decision-making under pressure are critical to effective collaboration with the medical team.

This initiative highlights nurses' essential role as “clinical leaders” in delivering high-quality care in today’s healthcare system, in alignment with Mahidol University's Real World Impact mission.
