On Tuesday, 10 June 2025, from 2:30 to 6.00 p.m. (Helsinki time), Dr. Ameporn attended the GNWHOCCNM side meeting, a key event during the ICN Congress. The session featured the SOWN2025 Actions, introduced by Dr. Carey McCarthy from WHO headquarters, who presented the latest State of the World's Nursing (SOWN) report. Participants were then divided into four thematic groups based on the Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery (SDNM): Education, Jobs, Leadership, and Service Delivery, to engage in focused discussions and feedback. The meeting continued with regional updates from WHO Collaborating Centres and Regional Nursing Advisors, followed by a Secretariat update from Professor Michele Rumsey, Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Services Development at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), who shared information regarding upcoming elections and the 2026 General Meeting. Dr. Ameporn’s participation, both as Dean and Co-chair of GNWHOCCNM, demonstrates Thailand’s continued leadership in shaping global nursing policy and collaboration. Her engagement in this global forum aligns strongly with the vision of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University — To be globally recognized as an International Hub at the forefront of Nursing Education to transform Healthcare and the Well-being of Humankind — through strategic partnerships, global leadership, and a commitment to advancing nursing education worldwide.
