Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University Promotes Environmental Sustainability through “NS MEE-D” Project

On November 4, 2025, Associate Professor Weeraya Jungsomjatepaisal, Associate Dean for Administration, Project Leader of “NS MEE-D,” and project members, donated 30 kilograms of plastic bottle caps to PRECIOUS PLASTIC BANGKOK as part of the “NS MEE-D” initiative. The “NS MEE-D” project is supported by Mahidol University under the Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs Living Lab Funding (SLF 2025), which aims to promote sustainability through innovative, community-based “Living Lab” models. PRECIOUS PLASTIC BANGKOK is an organization that assists local communities in establishing small-scale recycling workshops, providing plastic recycling machinery, conducting educational training on plastic waste management, and encouraging each community to create unique recycled products that reflect their identity.

This activity aims to reduce global warming and the amount of plastic waste sent to landfills by recycling plastic caps into new, useful products. These recycled items can generate income for local communities while reducing environmental impact. The initiative has contributed to a reduction of approximately 30.93 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (kgCO₂eq) in greenhouse gas emissions.
