Program Philosophy of Academic Year 2017

The Bachelor of Nursing Science Program at the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University strives to prepare graduates with competencies in accordance with both national and international professional standards with the depth in nursing and midwifery knowledge, and the breadth in knowledge about issues and trends in world health care, as well as possessing skills in caring for clients undergoing treatment with advanced technologies, leadership, communication, service minded, critical thinking, innovative creativity, social responsibility, and adaptability to social changes leading to the outstanding characteristics of graduates of the Faculty of Nursing; that is, “commitment to integrity, intellectual excellence, and contribution and creation of value to society."

Curriculum Objectives of Academic Year 2017

In order to provide education in nursing science to meet academic and professional standards, the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University emphasizes on preparing graduates to have knowledge, skills, morals, and ethics in professional nursing practices in accordance with the philosophy of Mahidol University and of Faculty of Nursing. After completing from the program, graduates should possess the following qualifications:

  1. Have knowledge in nursing and midwifery and other related sciences in providing nursing care for individuals, families, and communities; and have knowledge about changes in issues and trends in world health care
  2. Have nursing skills to demonstrate the holistic nursing practice for people of all ages and clients undergoing treatment with advanced technologies by utilizing nursing processes, and integrating nursing knowledge, research results, empirical evidence, and indigenous wisdom in consideration to integrity, morality, and codes of conduct, and other related laws.
  3. Demonstrate systematic and analytic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making based on academic principles.
  4. Assert leadership skills, creative thinking, development of research and innovation and skills for lifelong learning as well as demonstrate work in collaboration with health care teams.
  5. Have skills to analyzes numbers and statistics, utilize technology in searching, presenting, and communicating information in Thai and other foreign languages.
  6. Demonstrate positive attitudes towards oneself, institute, profession, and society, have service minded, and ability to adapt to social changes, as well as demonstrate appropriate behavior in the society.
